At HolyTrails.us, we organize seven-day pilgrimage trips around the world designed to deepen faith and enrich cultural understanding. Each journey features engaging lectures from priests about the Catholic faith, visits to historic churches, convents, monasteries, and other sacred sites, and immersive experiences exploring the local culture through the lens of Catholic tradition.
Each trip includes engaging lectures and reflections led by Catholic priests who bring wisdom, history, and theology to life. These talks deepen understanding of the faith, answer important spiritual questions, and inspire participants to see the beauty of Catholicism in everyday life while traveling.
Our itineraries include visits to magnificent churches, convents, monasteries, and shrines that hold centuries of history. Pilgrims experience the awe of sacred architecture, sacred art, and relics, while connecting spiritually to the devotion and sacrifices of generations of faithful Catholics who helped shape the Church’s heritage.
Beyond sightseeing, our journeys center around faith practices. Daily Mass, prayer moments, and opportunities for confession provide space for reflection and renewal. These spiritual experiences allow participants to draw closer to God, strengthen their Catholic identity, and return home with renewed purpose and peace in their lives.
Traveling with us is also an opportunity to encounter the beauty of Catholic culture in each country. Pilgrims discover local traditions, art, music, and cuisine shaped by centuries of faith. Every cultural element enriches understanding of how Catholicism influenced society and continues to inspire communities around the world.
Our pilgrimages foster a spirit of community among travelers. Sharing Mass, meals, and experiences allows participants to build lasting friendships rooted in faith. Together, the group creates a supportive environment of joy and encouragement, where everyone can share their journey with fellow Catholics who understand and celebrate their devotion.
We believe Catholic heritage is best understood where it began. By traveling through Europe, participants encounter the roots of Catholicism firsthand. From ancient basilicas to monasteries that preserved culture, these sites reveal the enduring presence of the Church and inspire awe for its timeless role in history and faith
Father Tim Segert, Parochial Vicar at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, Boise Diocese, has officially confirmed his participation in our 2026 seven-day pilgrimage to Portugal. His presence will bring spiritual guidance, inspiration, and fellowship to this special journey. We are blessed to have him join us, sharing prayers, reflections, and support as we explore faith, tradition, and meaningful experiences together throughout the week.
We’ve been married for over 25 years and recently felt called to become more involved in our parish. A beautiful trip to Portugal opened our eyes to the richness of Old World Catholicism, inspiring us to share that experience with others. With more than 10 years of experience organizing travel events, we hope to help fellow American Catholics discover Europe’s sacred sites, strengthen their faith, and embrace the cultural heritage of the Church.
